When Marilyn Hawes learned that her three boys were being sexually abused by their teacher who received a suspended sentence despite pleading guilty, she was energized to make a difference. Consulting two seasoned technical executives, Roger Woods (her husband) and Jodie Hughes, they discovered that there were no modern platforms to assist adult or child sexual abuse survivors, connecting them to professionals or managing their cases. Knowing we could make a larger impact than current non-profits and services, we launched HearMe (USA) in cooperation with Freedom from Abuse (UK) in 2018.
